Following hard on the heels of the successful collaboration between ESN, Ocean Events and AMD which delivered The California Dreamin Custom Show at the Bournemouth International Centre in May, we have been hard at work reviewing what has been achieved and laying down plans for next year.
After careful consideration of our visitors feedback, we have come to the conclusion that whilst the BIC is a great venue, it was not ideally suited to what we wanted to achieve. Coupled with the problem of parking, but also owing to a clash of dates, for 2012 we have decided to re-engineer the show with a new name – simply “The Custom Motorcycle Show” and move to a new venue – Beaulieu, the home of the National Motor Museum and only a few miles away from Bournemouth.
The choice of our new home at Beaulieu makes huge sense. As an existing major tourist attraction in the South of England, but with an strong automotive flavour, Beaulieu already attracts large numbers of visitors every weekend to the Motor Museum which includes in addition to some of the most famous vehicles in the world, an exceptional collection of World and British Championship Superbike on display in the Motorcycle Gallery, along with the largest collection of Ducati’s outside of the Ducati Museum in Bologna.
Other permanent features such as the Top Gear display and the James Bond exhibition add extra spice to the collection and coupled with the historic Abbey, magnificent gardens and the world famous Palace House, home of the Montagu family since 1538, Beaulieu has something for everyone. For more information about Beaulieu please visit: www.beaulieu.co.uk
The Custom Motorcycle Show will be held over the Fathers Day weekend of the 16th and 17th of June, and runs in parallel with the existing Beaulieu Custom and Hotrod Festival. This event, which brings together some of the finest custom and classic cars in the country attracts in excess of 5,000 visitors. With our own campaigns, which will again run advertising across the motorcycle press and an extensive PR campaign to owners clubs and associations nationally, we would anticipate to double this number over the show, as the extra value tickets to the event also gains access to all the other Beaulieu features.
The Custom Motorcycle Show will again be a proud affiliated of the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building, as one of their global network of events, the winning builder taking not just the glory but a trip to Sturgis USA to compete for the world champion title. With plenty of good notice, we hope to see even more builders taking part looking to win one of the first prestigious Beaulieu awards.
We will shortly be publishing our site plans for indoor and outdoor space, along with the rate card and further detailed information about promotions, affiliations and sponsors. Given the nature of this event, we expect there to be considerable interest in the specialist motorcycle exhibition spaces as well as the trade village area.
If you would like to make an application for space for the Grand Marquee, the Motorcycle Show Ground or the Trade Village please let me know and I will contact you directly with first draft information to ensure you enjoy the best possible location. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please also contact me (chris@esnevents.co.uk) as we have several highly effective packages which may be of interest: The web site, currently under construction can be found at: www.thecustomshow.com
